Essex County College PTA 5K Run for Healing Spaces Campaign


Essex County College is an open-door, public college located in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, United States. In August 1966, the Board of Freeholders approved the creation of Essex County College and in September 1968, more than a year after the Newark riots, the college opened its doors to 3,400 students at 31 Clinton Street, Newark, NJ.

The PTA 5K is a Healthy Lifestyles event designed to encourage families and students to lead healthier achievement. In five years, the PTA 5K had donated almost $90,000 back into local school PTA’s. The campaign called for a website where users could register, donate, and learn. A branding campaign consisting of a logo and style guide printed postcards and registration materials along with a custom design t-shirt on organic breathable cotton- dedicated to young children will illness who have lost their lives and for the children with us here today who tackle the test of time and patience to restore healthier life styles.

The Physical therapist assistant association who put the program together had the rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the quality of people’s lives. Their work involves extensive contact with both patients and other health care professionals. Physical therapist assistants work under the supervision of a physical therapist in implementing treatment programs specific to the plan of care. Physical therapist assistants work in hospitals, private physical therapy offices, community health centers, corporate or industrial health centers, sport facilities, research institutions, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, schools, pediatric centers, colleges and universities. The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is accredited with creating an ongoing 5K Healing Space Run / Walkathon bringing many groups of people together & sharing care.
